Antoine Scherer

Antoine Scherer is a French ecologist and researcher living in Eastern Finland. He has a MSc in Ecology and Biodiversity Management from the University of Lille (France), but decided right after his studies to explore more holistic ways to consider nature and landscapes. Being fascinated by the complex relationships between human communities and their surrounding environments, he is now working as a field ecologist on rewilding projects with the Snowchange Cooperative in Finland. When he is not helping on the field to restore rivers and peatlands or fishing on the ice in the winter, he works on his PhD project which aims to give a theoretical framework to the concept of rewilding in the Boreal and assess the potential outcomes of rewilding for local communities.
